If you live near Colfax, Washington or Bainbridge Island, WA and would like to avoid shipping charges, local pick up is available, just choose the "Local Pickup" option during checkout and indicate which location (Colfax or Bainbridge) in the Special Instructions. We ask that you call ahead or specify a pick up time in the "special instructions" to garauntee that someone will be there to meet you! All kidding aside, because I know you know I'm not old enough to do that, we do take great care in the packaging and shipping of our grains. All of the grains and lentils ordered from Joseph's Grainery are shipped to you via the United State Postal Service Priority Mail. We've done the research and have determined that the best way to ship grain is to use the USPS Flat Rate Boxes, check around, you'll see our shipping prices are much lower than our competitors. Because it is most economical to use the Flat Rate boxes, we've based the weight of each of our products on the amount that will best fit into the different sized Flat Rate boxes. Our rates are subject to change at anytime without notice.
