Whole Wheat Berry Cobbler

We picked a bunch of blackberries over the weekend.  MaMa says she looks forward to blackberry season every year because she loves to make fresh cobbler.  I had a lot of fun picking berries.  I think I might've eaten more berries than made it into my bucket, but that's part of the fun, right?  I definitely had a purple mouth by the time we were done and MaMa had to use the spray n' wash on my shirt.
MaMa says she's always made her blackberry cobbler using a yellow cake mix because it was so simple and quick, and after you've been out picking berries you want that cobbler as quickly as possible.  She knew it probably wasn't the most healthy way to make it, so this year she tried to make it healthier, while keeping the recipe quick and simple.  She also wanted to keep the taste similar.  DaDa says she did just that and it tastes even better, so we're excited to share this recipe with you.  You don't neccessarily have to go out and pick blackberries to make this.  You can use any kind of berry and even frozen berries will work!
Ingredients:

1/2 c sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter softened
4 c (or more) berries

Directions:  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  In a 9x13 pan, arrange an even layer of the berries.  Mix all of the dry ingredients together and then add the softened butter.  Combine until the mixture is crumbly and has clumps the size of peas.  Spread evenly over the berries.

Bake for 1 hour.
