Banana Jazz Bars
Bananas, there always seem to be more than enough ripe bananas around our house, so MaMa's always trying to come up with new ways to use those ripe bananas so they don't go to waste. So here's here latest tasty treat made with ripe bananas...Banana Jazz Bars. When she saw the recipe for these bars on An Opera Singer in the Kitchen she knew she had to try them, as she's always on the search for a fun solution for those ripe bananas.
Ingredients for Banana Jazz Bars:
1 stick butter, softened
⅔ cup sugar
⅓ cup maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla
4 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 egg
2 c Joseph's Grainery Soft White Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ c chocolate chips
½ c walnuts, chopped
Directions: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x13 with cooking spray. In a mixer, cream the butter and sugars, then add vanilla, mashed bananas and egg.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Add to the banana mix and stir until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Spread into the prepared 9×13 glass pan. Bake 35 minutes. Cool completely before cutting. Enjoy!
