This little fire could have been a big one if the wind would have come up. You can see the fire truck coming up the road to the left of the picture. My Grandpa was flying in from Steptoe, Washington and saw the smoke over town. The fire guys had to have been there inside of five minutes and got it right out. There were some nervous property owners until then. The Colfax Fire Department gets a gold star on thier box of Cracker Jacks for this one.
